Will the file be exactly 50 KB?
No — 50 KB is a target, not a guarantee. The tool re-encodes your image repeatedly at lower quality until the measured output is at or below 50 KB, then stops. The number you see in the result panel is the real byte count of the file you download, so you can always confirm it before uploading anywhere.
What happens if my image can't reach the target?
If a very large or very detailed photo can't reach 50 KB at a reasonable quality, you'll get the smallest file the encoder could produce along with a note explaining it. Reducing the pixel dimensions first is the fastest fix: halving width and height removes about three quarters of the pixels and usually drops the file far below the target.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs in your browser using the Canvas API. The file never leaves your device, there is no account to create, and nothing is stored after you close the tab.
Is there a watermark or a limit on how many images I can do?
There is no watermark and no daily limit. Because processing is local, the only real constraint is your device's memory, which the tool checks before it starts.
My photo looks soft at 50 KB — what can I do?
50 KB is a very small budget for a multi-megapixel photo. Crop away anything you don't need, then set the width to somewhere between 600 and 900 pixels on the dimensions tab before compressing. Fewer pixels means each remaining pixel can keep more quality inside the same 50 KB.
